TOLERANT Software in a Docker Container
Docker is an open source platform that packages software in standardized containers. These containers contain everything needed to run the software, such as libraries, system tools, code and runtime environments. With Docker, you can not only create these containers, but also deploy and manage them.
Docker was developed to simplify the management and distribution of microservices. Microservices are independent modules that can be put into production independently of each other. They are based on the idea of modularization, which facilitates the understanding and development of software.
The data quality products from TOLERANT Software, such as TOLERANT Post (address validation), TOLERANT Bank (bank data validation) and TOLERANT Name (name validation), are particularly well suited for use as Docker containers, as they do not need to store any data during operation. TOLERANT Match, a tool for error-tolerant search and duplicate detection, can also be used as a Docker container, although the persistence of index data poses a particular challenge here.
